waters of life
This March the church made the quick trip to Woolwich where we conducted our yearly water baptism event.
We were blessed to have five people baptised and make a public declaration of their faith in Christ as well as commitment to follow Him in earnest.
Ages ranged from 8 to 60. Those baptised included a couple from Germany who have been staying in Hunters Hill as well as a new convert to Christianity in her 20s.
The water was a perfect temperature and to add the icing on the cake the sun emerged from behind clouds as Pastor Alex and Myles stepped out onto the water to receive those being baptised. A wonderful experience!
Sunroom under new management
We should have mentioned this by now but better late than never.. we have a fantastic new manager at the Sunroom!
Our Community Cafe is now being managed by the very experienced Carlotta Gattafu. Carlotta previously worked at Hunters Hill Club and also had her own coffee van. We are excited to have Italian expat with us!
She is joined by Kafi, Evangeline and Elijah who will all make your cafe experience a brighter one.
encouraged up
“Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today,’ so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.” (Heb. 3:13)
Ever receive a kind note of encouragement or a positive comment from a friend? It may have been only a sentence long but you suddenly felt a whole lot better after you read or heard it.
That’s encouragement. And we are all the better for it.
The Bible happens to recommend it highly as something we need to do. The more often the better. I read someone say that “encouragement is like oxygen in our lives: it keeps hearts beating, minds clear, and hands inspired to serve.”
God didn’t just suggest we encourage each other. He commanded it. Since it’s that beneficial, let’s just all do it!
