waters of woolwich

The first quarter of 2024 is well underway and one of the premier events for our church was the Water Baptism Sunday we enjoyed in February. About 70 friends and church family gathered at Woolwich and celebrated what is a powerful testimony of dedication to Christ.

In all we had seven fantastic people go through the waters of baptism and new life. That included two individual women and the members of two families. The event was our biggest since the pandemic and a number of others have voiced their desire to be included in the next round of baptisms.

“And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name.” - Acts 22:16

christmas was funtastic

Our Christmas Eve service was great fun as we presented a multi million production on the birth of Christ. It featured Mary and Joseph, shepherds, sheep, and the angel Gabriel. Even the Star over Bethlehem made her one-line appearance.

Well, by multi million we mean that we went to the local costume shop and got some nifty outfits. It was a a hoot as the “actors” fluffed their lines but stayed on course to bring the play to its dramatic ending. The many gathered - in fact, we had a church close to capacity in attendance- didnt seem to mind and had a good laugh as part of the Christmas celebration. Some of the pics here are from the service. We can’t wait for Christmas to come in 2024!

let there be lighting

Our church building on Alexandra Street has received a lighting makeover. Our goal is to highlight the features of our historic building including our 100 year plus old organ. We have also replaced our old projector screen with a sparkling QLED TV monitor adding sharpness to our media presentations.

Our new lighting will compliment our wonderful site and be a place that features vocal and instrumental concerts. It will enable our historic venue to be a focal point for community music and church worship.

Life Congregational Church is located at the corner of Ferdinand and Alexandra streets, Hunters Hill. Our Sunday service commences at 10am
